Wander the green heart

We start in the city's beautiful central park — wide lawns, old trees, fountains and quiet paths. A relaxed walk to ease into the day and see why locals love this green space in the middle of the city. There's a carousel, sports courts, fountains and plenty of shade.

Lupo Gelato — Best in the World
The sweet stop

From the park we head towards the centre for what many visitors swear is the best gelato they have ever tasted — Lupo. Dozens of flavours made fresh, a proper Italian-style counter, and a cone in hand as we start exploring the old town. A small thing that people remember for years.

Local tip: ask your guide for the seasonal flavour — it changes through the summer and it's always the best one in the case.

We walk through the lively bar area and onto Gospodska Street — Banja Luka's famous pedestrian shopping street, lined with cafés, shops and locals out enjoying the day. This is the social heart of the city. Time to browse, people-watch, and soak up the atmosphere.

Down to the Vrbas — The Diving Spot
River & diving area

Now we head down to the Vrbas, the green river that runs through the city and gives Banja Luka its character. We visit the riverside diving area — a beautiful spot to slow down, sit by the water, and take in the canyon scenery.

The Rafting Area — Sit, Drink & Eat
Lunch & relax by the water

We continue to the famous Vrbas rafting area — home to riverside cafés, bars and rafting camps like Kamp Olimp. This is the perfect place to sit down for a while, have a drink, and eat something if you like, right next to the rushing river. Riverside Walk to Restaurant Alibi on Vrbas
A gentle stroll along the Vrbas

A beautiful, easy walk along the riverbank, following the Vrbas down towards the Restaurant Alibi on Vrbas. Clear green water, trees, and the sound of the river — one of the most peaceful parts of the day, and a lovely way to stretch your legs after lunch.

Kastel Fortress
The grand finish

We finish at the Kastel — the ancient stone fortress that has guarded the Vrbas since Roman times, rebuilt through the medieval and Austro-Hungarian eras. Walk through the great stone gate, explore the walls, the courtyards and the old ruins, and enjoy the calm of this historic site right on the riverbank. The perfect end to the day.
